What is All Campus Party?

Each Spring, the Wisconsin Alumni Association and the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board (WASB) team up with campus organization and businesses to sponsor All Campus Party (ACP).

ACP is a cost-free and alcohol-alternative celebration, created for students by students. ACP focuses on the end of the school year, the onset of spring and the enthusiasm of the campus community. All Campus Party seeks to acknowledge and embrace the diversity of campus by bringing both individuals and organizations together to celebrate our common bond... our love for the UW!

The Organ & Tissue Donor Foundation - UW-Madison Chapter has two events planned in conjunction with All Campus Party and National Donate Life Month.

What is the Green Ribbon Event?

This event was run in conjunction with National Donate Life Month during the All Campus Party week at the University of Wisconsin.  The Organ & Tissue Donor Foundation - UW-Madison Chapter, networked with fraternities, sororities, residence halls and other student organizations to promote organ and tissue donation.

3500 small plastic bags containing seven green ribbons were distributed across campus.  Students were instructed to tie one ribbon around their wrist and not take it off until they talked with their families about donation.  The other ribbons were to represent their kidneys, liver, pancreas, intestine, heart and lungs (technically, you can donate two lungs and two kidneys) and should be “donated” to someone with the same instructions.

Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey

Our Bucky's State Fair event was a "pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey" styled booth.  In place of a
donkey and tail with pin, we had a mannequin and organs with Velcro.  The booth was a great success.  Green Mardi Gras beads were given away as prizes to all participants.  The beads had a tag attached with organ donor information and instruction about how they can "donate" some of their beads (representing organs) to friends.

Brochures, green "Donate Life - Dona Vida" wristbands, orange dots, lapel pins, Mardi Gras beads and lots of information were given out at our Bucky's State Fair booth (above).  Bucky Badger and a student try their hand at transplant surgery pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey style (right).

What were all about!

The Organ & Tissue Donor Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that promotes the philosophy and practice of organ and tissue donation.

The Foundation provides practical experience for college and high school students participating in the organization by empowering them to conceptualize, implement and administer the Foundation's work through various campaigns which in turn fosters life-long values toward charity among it's young volunteers.

April is National Donate Life Month

Despite continuing advances in medicine and technology, the need for organs and tissue is vastly greater than the number available for transplantation. You can make a difference by becoming a member of our group, inspiring others or participating in one of our programs.

Close to 100,000 people are on waiting lists today.

Today -
18 people will not survive their wait.
